About Tom

As a young boy, I have great memories of snorkeling & swimming in the Boynton Inlet, fishing the Boynton spillway with my Boy Scout Troop until dawn and riding the tram thru Knollwood Groves picking grapefruit & oranges with my 4 brothers and sisters. Growing up here in central Palm Beach County gives me a unique perspective on where we’ve been as a community and where we should go. In 1980, I found the love of my life Carol Ann. We founded our first business Dixie Carpet & Vinyl Inc. that same year and quickly became the industry leader in high quality specialty carpet products. In 1986, we opened our second carpet store on Lake Worth Rd and continued our rise in the flooring industry. Tropical Carwash was our third successful business and is still in operation today on US1.

Carol & I have been married for 40 years and have one daughter Rachael, who is an ICU Nurse at Bethesda Hospital. We have one grandson Aiden who attends kindergarten at Citrus Cove Elementary School. Shortly after moving into Knollwood, I saw an opportunity to utilize my leadership skills and assist my HOA by serving as vice president to improve systems of maintenance and ensure adequate reserves are kept for emergencies. Currently I’m safeguarding those funds for the HOA as Knollwood’s Treasurer. My life has been about giving back and serving the community that I love.

Experience and proven leadership matter! My 40 years of business, government, & non-profit management makes me uniquely qualified to serve the residents of district 4 currently in Boynton’s history.

I’m currently serving the City of Boynton Beach on the Planning & Zoning Board, as well as the Historic Preservation & Resources board. I’m the only candidate in this race that has been elected by YOU the people, having served three terms as an elected official, two as Mayor of the City of Lake Worth and one term as Vice Mayor and city commissioner.

In 2001, we sold our businesses after the Greater Lake Worth Chamber of Commerce asked me to resurrect the struggling organization and become the President/ CEO. The chamber was $50,000 in debt and had less than 200 business members. In just 5 short years I built the Cities first Welcome Center in downtown, recruited over 700 corporations to the chamber of commerce, and was recognized by then Governor Charlie Crist as the #1 Chamber of Commerce in the State of Florida.

I hope over the next few months I get the opportunity to meet all of you in District 4 as I come to your neighborhood. We must preserve our quality of life through increased Public Safety, traffic calming, increased beautification, redevelopment of the old Boynton Mall, implement Eco- Park, and end the Town Square litigation.

Together we can make Boynton Beach the most desirable place to live, work, and play in South Florida! Call me today and tell me how I can help you!
